Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens – November Update
November has been a good month at the gardens, and much has been achieved. Groups from Greyfriars Mission, Carr-Gomm Scotland, New Caledonian Woodlands, and the Bank of Scotland, amongst others, have made short work of a whole range of tasks aimed at consolidating the hard work of so many this year.
Timber beds have been built, Broad Beans and Garlic planted, and a couple of kilometres of Rabbit fencing are nearing completion. The BoS group barrowed 6 tonnes of gravel into potholes on our track, despite being half a group down due to illness! The purpose of this exercise was to make the walkways around the gardens more appealing, particularly for people making their way from the main hospital site.
