Calder Food Hub – May Update
This month has seen us commissioning and procuring tools for the tool library. Subscribers to our membership scheme will be able to access £500 worth of commonly used garden tools.
16 hours of paid development work, funded by the Local Food Programme, has been done on our website
www.calderfoodhub.org.uk, which is now starting to take shape.
An Easter ‘Potato planting’ event took place on 25.4.11, in partnership with Transition Town Hebden Bridge and HebVeg. We were able to use our group insurance to cover the event.
We distributed excess seed from ‘Seedy Saturday’ to the Library Garden and Transition Town groups. Members also donated £50 worth of perennial bedding plants for Knott Wood Forest School and a women’s gardening and meditation space at Callis Mill.
