Our Cancer Awareness Open Day was really well attended at the start of the month. Lots of customers took away information on a range of topics, including prostate, ovarian, bowel and breast cancer. Ali from NHS Smoking Cessation came and signed up some people for the group that meets weekly in Broomhouse. The free give-aways of blueberry muffins, homemade muslei and tomato soup (all made by the weeks cookery classes!) were all very popular, along with the recipe sheet. They are all great examples of cancer fighting foods, that are simple to make and so good for you.
The Cookin’ Drop In sessions also held a Feedback and Ideas session with 8 of the past clients taking part. They had some really useful and productive discussions, resulting in a great mind map as can be seen! The classes restart on 18th April, with a new time of 6-8pm on Wed evenings.
