A Broomhouse Community Health Hub Open Day was held at the start of the month at which we officially launched the new Broomhouse & Sighthill Timebank. A Timebank is a way for people to share their skills with others in the community and to benefit from the skills of others. We had a great response at the Open Day with a number of local residents interested in signing up to the Timebank. Over the week of the Open Day we sold our £1 soup bags at half price – and sold 120 over the week, 48 of which we sold on the Open Day itself! The Open Day was a great partnership event with The Broomhouse Centre, and across both venues there was a whole host of activities including, massage/relaxation therapies, nail and hand massage, silk painting, card making, a ‘stir fry’cooking demonstration, Christmas spices and chutney making, a free soup lunch and a crochet demo! It was a great day with over 100 clients through the doors, raising much needed awareness amongst local residents of all the services available to them.
