February started with a lovely free members crafting day as thanks to the many members who support us with time and money. A bumper Valentine’s making day was held in Lauder Public Hall. On the 16th our children’s crafting day was a celebration of Chinese New Year with local children exploring interesting aspects of Chinese culture making Chinese Opera masks, concertina dragons, lanterns and bubble wrap snakes. All this was served up with a lovely lunch. We also expanded our ‘Upcycling’ programme with weekly furniture restoration and upcycle taking place in Earlston and Gattonside until Easter. A very exciting trip to the auctions bagged everyone a bargain with photos to follow next month.
