Again the weather in March created havoc, with frost, snow and cold. Sowing and planting has been delayed and it means our harvest will also be later.
We have had a steady increase in volunteers despite the cold as people love working outdoors, especially if they are socially isolated or need to get out of the house. Despite the bad weather we are still supplying veg bags to customers and also free bags for 4 weeks to families in food poverty. We are enabled to do this through a partnership with Food Aware CIC of Rotherham who recycle surplus food from the food industry, which supplements our meagre production at this time of year.
