Community Fund – Rhubarb Farm – July Update
More good news in July, as the Tudor Trust awarded Rhubarb Farm £60,000 to employ 2 ex-offenders over the next 2 years. This is a brilliant boost to our work getting offenders back into society and employment. We have also increased the veg bags we provide and on one day at the end of July packed 28 bags. This is after only one year, and on a small piece of land. It shows the hard work of volunteers and staff, especially after the harsh winter and Spring. Furthermore, in July, two of our volunteers, one ex-offender and one recovering alcoholic found employment. We also ran a 4 week cookery course for people with mental ill health, and we hosted a Corporate Challenge Day for the staff of Nottingham University’s Environmental Technology Centre. They have helped us in the past and we host a weather station for them, recording data which we transmit to them monthly.
