In January Rhubarb Farm has nearly drowned! The incessant rain has put back our poultry project because we cannot get the new hen house up the site on the low loader because the ground is like a quagmire. But the poultry run is built and waiting the 80 hens as soon as the ground dries a little.
Volunteers have kept coming despite the rain. But we also got a boost, when we learnt we had been given a grant of £3,800 from Derbyshire County Council for our food poverty work – we supply veg bags each week to families in food poverty referred by other organisations like children’s centres.
