It’s Parkinson’s Awareness Week this week. This year we teamed up with Parkinson’s UK to offer 270 cafes across the UK a campaign pack including 800 free specially branded Vegware napkins and an awareness poster to help raise awareness of the condition and the charity.
To kick off the start of campaign week in Scotland, we headed down to local participating cafe Kiki’s in Edinburgh where we met with writer Ian Rankin who was on hand to help encourage the public to show their support.
The theme of this year’s campaign is #incontrol and aims to create more awareness of the symptoms the thousands of people living with Parkinson’s in the UK face on a daily basis, and what we can all do to help people with the condition feel more in control of their lives.
We’ve been overwhelmed by the goodwill of the UK cafes and their enthusiasm for getting involved. To find your nearest participating cafe check out the interactive map here and tweet away with @vegware and @ParkinsonsUK using the hashtag #incontrol.
