Today the top 12 green businesses representing the UK gathered at the Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh. Were we among them? Well since you ask, yes.

The European Business Awards for the Environment are an EU award scheme which takes place every other year. Winners of accredited national schemes are allowed to enter, and just 12 companies go forward to represent each member state.

Spot the green jacket! Communications Director Lucy Frankel with the UK’s EBAE entrants…

As winners of 2 RSA-accredited awards (VIBES 2013 and the BCE Awards 2012) we were allowed to enter this, and happily have been selected to go up to the Europe-wide stage. The judges said Vegware was “an innovation with significant environmental benefits”. We think so too!

We were among excellent company – for example check out Dryden Aqua who use recycled green glass to make super-efficient water filters. And of course, our pals The Bay Fish and Chips who are showing the world that even a small seaside chippy can go green to reap huge business benefits. Many thanks to SEPA for hosting the event today. Fingers crossed for all the UK entrants!
