Newsletter: New! Colourful grab & go collection | Anti-spill eco lids

Vegware newsletter eco packagingHello!

We have a bumper crop of NEW Vegware… So much that we’re splitting the newsletter in two. For today, here’s TWO new ranges, each with its own short film, plus Eilidh’s award win, and our new Bin Detective classroom kit! We’ll send the other 6 new products later in the week 🙂

1. Tasting Notes – our colourful new collection with a spangly FILM

Drumroll please! Love high street colour, street food style AND trendy word clouds? Well, you’ll love Tasting Notes, our new grab & go collection of cool coffee cups, and vivid hot and cold food containers, a chip scoop, carrier bag and a variety of greaseproof sheets. Eco packaging – now in glorious technicolour!

To quote our very own Teresa Suter: “We see vivid colour everywhere right now – on the high street and in the vibrancy of street food. Plus, even grab and go food needs a great provenance story to attract discerning consumers. Sommeliers write ‘tasting notes’ describing wine flavours – so we designed colourful word clouds describing artisan food to go.”

2. Gourmet bagasse lid – unique new anti-spill eco closure – with a FILM

Eco has closure! Meet our unique anti-spill closure for hot food to go. Call us geeky, but we are very proud of this! The lid nests into the base, and clever little tabs hold it in place ensuring no movement side to side or up and down. Easy to use, and perfect for hot food to go. The film explains it all!

  • Anti-spill design
  • Practical & economic
  • Microwave & freezer safe
  • Unique to Vegware (patent pending)

Our size 4 bagasse lid is in stock now to fit 22oz or 32oz bases; lid sizes 3 and 5 on their way, each with 2 depths of base to fit. This is part of our expanding gourmet range – shortlisted for the Caterer’s Product Excellence Awards no less!

This new lid is made of bagasse – the brilliant 100% recycled plant fibre we make our takeaway boxes and tableware from. It’s freezable, microwaveable, stylish and has 99% less embodied carbon than polystyrene. Totally bagasse. Here’s our Eilidh presenting a short film about our eco materials.

3. NEW! Bin Detective – FREE classroom recycling activity kit – yep, FILM here

Work in schools? Vegware has created the Bin Detective, a cartoon character with an educational resource kit helping schools teach about recycling. The Primary Kit, launched for autumn term 2015, includes an interactive classroom presentation, a poster, and teachers’ notes describing a range of activities. It is available for free at www.Vegware.com/downloads.

4. Big award for Eilidh – our Rising Star

Our very own Eilidh Brunton, Vegware’s Group Recycling Consultant, is the star of the recycling scene. She’s only been named Rising Star at the Scottish Resources Awards. Judges recognised her achievements in bringing together the waste sector through the Food Waste Network’s activities.

Eilidh has also been a global ambassador for the Scottish waste sector, including being invited to Las Vegas to speak about Scotland’s zero waste journey and food waste regulations at Waste Expo 2015. Well done Eilidh!

And that’s it for today! 6 more new products to come in a few days 🙂
