Vegware’s Community Fund helps recipients grow
Our Community Fund is over ten years old this year. Over the last ten years we’ve been delighted to support hundreds of charities and community projects, across the UK, Africa and America. Rhubarb Farm, set in rural Langwith, Nottinghamshire, is one of our longest standing recipients. Through the Community Fund we have been able to help the farm sustain their day to day activities.
In 2009, Vegware started the Vegware Community Fund to support sustainability in its widest sense, including the built and natural environment, and community projects, by offering monthly grants or a regular donation of Vegware’s eco packaging.
Rhubarb Farm offer work placements, training and volunteering opportunities. They welcome volunteers, whatever their needs or disabilities, or gardening experience. Alongside their volunteering opportunities, they provide a variety of other services to the local community: producing vegetable bags, educational visits, Corporate Challenge Days, a shop for pre-loved items, and more. In 2018, they were awarded the Social Enterprise of the Year in the Elastic FM Community Awards, recognising the marvellous work they do for the community.
Vegware’s years of support has helped them offer on-site courses, man fair-stalls, provide Knit and Natter groups for the local community, run Operation soup (a six-week course of economical soup-making), and attend The Chatsworth Flower show.
