A special congratulations to our very own Julia Wetstein, Vegware US Zero Waste Director! She has been elected to the Biodegradable Product Institute (BPI) 2021 Board of Directors.

BPI is a science-driven organization and advocates for a shift towards a circular economy. They achieve this through material certifications and increasing understanding through education. They also expand access to systems that accept certified biodegradable products.

Our US-based composting guru Julia Wetstein has 23 years of experience in composting, agriculture and implementing zero waste programs.

In her time as Assistant Dean of Agriculture at Southern Illinois University, she supervised a 2,000-acre experimental farm facility. Her own family farm has a 120-year history. She is a member of the US Composting Council Biodegradable Products Task Force, the Illinois Food Scrap Coalition, the Organic Recycling Association of Ohio, and the California Association of Compost Producers.

We are thrilled for Julia to represent Vegware and use her expertise to help this wonderful organization. Well done!
