What even is a Series number?!

Ever clocked those little series numbers on the side of some Vegware products – 79-Series, 89-Series, 96-Series – and thought what on earth is that about? Spoiler alert: it’s not a secret code.

It’s our system. Our way of saving you time, cupboard space, and a lot of lid-related headaches.

The logic

Here’s the deal: every series number refers to the rim diameter of the cup, bowl, or container. So, if it says 79-Series, that’s a 79mm rim. Doesn’t matter if it’s a single or double wall hot cup, if it’s a 79-Series, it takes the same 79-Series lid.

No more rummaging in stock cupboards muttering “is this the medium soup lid or the large coffee one?” Just match the series number, snap on the lid, and get back to serving actual food.

Why it helps you

  • Less confusion: Staff don’t have to play ‘Guess the Lid’.
  • Smarter storage: One lid works across multiple products, so fewer boxes in your stockroom.
  • Streamlined orders: Once you know your series, reordering is a doddle.

Why it’s a Vegware thing (and only a Vegware thing)

We invented this system. It’s not an industry standard, it’s a Vegware standard. Designed to make compostable packaging easier for caterers, baristas, and anyone who’s ever had to open the wrong box of lids in the middle of a lunch rush.

Our cups might look simple, but the thinking behind them isn’t. Series numbers are part of how we engineer products that actually work in real-life catering. Strong cups, snug lids, and fewer headaches for you.

Series numbers might look like a tiny detail, but they solve a big problem: keeping your cups, bowls, and lids working together seamlessly.
