PPWR compliance: helping customers choose packaging with confidence
Packaging legislation in the EU is changing under PPWR, which came into force on 12 August 2026. For foodservice businesses, the changes mean it is more important than ever to understand what compliant packaging looks like and what documentation is required.
PPWR introduces clearer requirements for packaging sold in the EU, including restrictions on intentionally added PFAS and strict heavy metals limits. Packaging must also be supported by a Declaration of Conformity showing it meets the relevant rules.
Vegware products are compliant with the current PPWR requirements that came into force on 12 August 2026, with the Declarations of Conformity customers need to choose compostable packaging with confidence.
