Fancy a delicious cup of matcha whilst out walking in the Peak District? We know just the spot. Flock Coffee Van, a bright green renovated horse trailer, is situated in Buxton and run by two pals who have shared love of ducks and good coffee.

Tell us a bit about you — and who is Steve? 

We’re Leanne and Maisie, two friends who met while working together. We quickly hatched a plan to create something fun and unique in our town of Buxton. Steve is an icon, he’s our beloved duck on the logo and, frankly, he keeps the business running!  

Where did the idea for Flock Coffee start?

It all came from our love of coffee, good quality bakes and supporting local. We knew we wanted to move our careers into a more creative field, so we thought, why not add barista and baker to the list?  

It looks like you have a lot of fun! What’s the best thing about running your own business?

The people! I know it’s cliché, but we’ve already made so many friends and absolutely love the community we’ve created. I can’t think of a better job where you get to chat and drink coffee all day! 

We love that you use Vegware packaging! Why did you choose us? 

We hunted around for a while trying to decide where to source our cups from, and I’m so glad we went with Vegware. The packaging is amazing quality, but the customer service can’t be beaten!! 

What one piece of advice would you give someone looking to start their own coffee van?

Calculate your budget… and then multiply it by two! 

What’s your favourite thing about Buxton?

The views and the community. The support we’ve had from everyone has been amazing! Other small businesses in town have also been a huge help. Whenever we run out of something, there’s always someone local ready to lend a hand! 

And lastly, who’s your favourite cartoon duck? 

Not a cartoon, but it has to be the OG Long Boi
