They say that sequels rarely match the original. But that was before we launched our brand-new Impact Report! This second edition takes stock of 2022 through a Vegware lens; celebrating our successes, acknowledging where we can improve, and relaying exciting developments in composting infrastructure across the globe.

Driving access to composting 

In 2022, we helped 45 Vegware clients set up composting collections for their used Vegware and food waste. Our Environmental team helped to set up a new Vegware composting route in the Bournemouth area and to facilitate a successful composting trial in Crewe. 

Our work with Compostable Coalition UK got underway with plans for composting trials and behaviour interventions. The project seeks to understand if and how compostable materials can fit into the UK’s existing biowaste infrastructure. More to come! 

Composting success stories 

There were some great composting success stories across the length of the UK in 2022. From the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden to Fife College’s five campuses, Vegware’s Environmental team worked tirelessly to provide closed loop solutions for our customers.

Vegware Community Fund: 2022 in numbers 

The Vegware Community Fund was set up in 2009 to support sustainability in its widest sense. The Fund supported 180 different projects in 2022, ranging from wildlife conservation projects to soup kitchens.
